I need to write a program that will remove certain punctuation from a field.

eg.   GFN 3 IC-656              This info is in a field that is 30 char long.

GFN3IC656                 I want to extract only this information to another field.

What boudl be the best solution?  The characters that I want to remove are mainly these.    /?-.,and the space

TIA
