Buck, I'm still trying to figure this all out, but here's what I am doing
now:  If you   _Program-describe_   the output file you create on the
AS/400 then you can use the regular RPG edit codes or edit words and
format the record to whatever length and layout you want, including
leading negative signs and decimal points.  The created file will look
just the way you instruct, including the trailing blanks.  At least its
happening for me that way.   I am also FTPing the file directly from the
AS/400 instead of using CPYTOPCD.
