We recently purchased a Lexmark Optra S printer (Model 1650). We have an I-data (IDA 250x IOP2) card for twin-ax attachement. The printer was easy to set up and configure for the AS/400. We were in heaven, this printer replaced an ancient IBM 4028 that had seen better days. Shortly after installation we began getting a "900 Service" error with the second line reading "RIP Software". I called Lexmark and after a day or so, they called me back and told me I needed to call I-data and work with them on this problem. I called I-data and they agreed to send me a new card to install. That card came on Friday afternoon, I replaced it early on Monday and today (Wednesday) I received the error again. There doesn't seem to be any pattern, in other words it doesn't happen to be any particular spool file. The only resolution is to turn the printer off and then back on. I'm hoping that maybe someone out there has experienced such an error and would be able to tell me further steps to take. I can move this "Problem" spool file to another Lexmark (4049) printer and it will be fine. I'm going to call I-data again, but I sure hope somebody else has had a similar problem and could relate to him how they resolved the problem. Thanks in advance for your help ! I sure do enjoy reading all these posts, eveyone is so helpful, not to mention smart !! :-) Joan Clark Info. Sys.
