As far as I know, SOM/DSOM is no longer an AS/400 offering. Some of the changes
for SOM/DSOM to OS/400 still exist (such as the SOM object type) and will

Currently, you are correct. Java classes are loaded onto the IFS, and
accessed/executed from there, by the AS/400 Java VM.
