Yes, V4R2 provides for Date data type support in *DSPF and *PRTF. In addition to such things as validation within the *DSPF, there is also a handy new DDS function Map Values (MAPVAL) such that one can, for instance, map program values like '01/01/40' to *BLANK on output and then return to the program the '01/01/40' value when blanks are input/returned by the user. Up to 100 mappings are supported per field, so the mapping could be rather fancy. Beside *BLANK, *CUR is another special value.
