Although there are those who think I'm a dinosaur, pleading for a return to punched cards, extolling the virtues of SEU and pining for the "good old days," I think that Code/400 could indeed be helpful for you. <gasp!> What makes up a good reputation? Mostly doing the job in time and under budget. Wouldn't being able to cut the time it takes you to finish a job be good for the client? That would enhance your reputation even more! "But then my billable hours go down and *I* lose money!" (I hear that a lot...) If you really have lots of pent-up demand, then your billables can stay the same while you make your customers happier! (You just work more projects in the same week.) With lots of very happy customers to pick from, you get to choose the ones YOU want to work for, rather than taking every job on just to "pay the bills." (I hear that a lot, too.)
