Maybe the stability of the AS/400 means we (AS/400 > developers) are spending time thinking about and solving business > problems. Ringing in w/my 2 cents worth: I've recently (past 3-4 months) been working on a VAX/VMS machine running an Oracle based data warehouse, after spending my entire career to this point in the AS/400 world (hence the reason I still subscribe to this list - I don't want to lose touch w/the "real" world :)). I'm willing to write a good deal of my perceptions off to a personal learning curve (it is a new system after all), but it does seem to me that stuff that required a no-brainer "snap of the fingers" on the /400 takes a surprising amount of gyrations to get to work over here. Perhaps I am a case study of "just being used to being so well served" or (more likely) I'm just an inflexible dinosaur who can't adapt well ;) Scott Cornell Mercy Information Systems +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
