Do you need to write programs for TCP/IP or just use APPC programs in a
TCP/IP environment?

If you just need to run APPC programs over TCP/IP, you can use AnyNet. It
is not as fast, but it does work, and it could give you time to look at the
programming issues with Sockets that have been mentioned.
