OK , next request... I need to do basically this same thing but the source
data is coming from a VAX or maybe an ALPHA. The system admin for those
boxes isn't aware of a way to convert from ASCII to EBCDIC on the source
systems.

1. Is there a 400 ASCII to EBCDIC convert util for this type of printing?
2. Is there a std VAX or ALPHA way to do this?
3. I guess we could use one of the RS/6000s to convert using the solution
below but that is not desirable at this time.

>Yes.  From the TCP/IP Confg & Reference:

  #!/bin/csh -f
  #-
  # Convert ASCII file to EBCDIC and send it to AS/400
  # to be received as *SCS file
  # the AS/400, it is required that the "working" LPD
  # PRTF located in QUSRSYS be changed with the following
  # command:

<SNIP>
