Hi! We have a low end AS/400 model 400 (?) system running V3R7 with 160 MB of RAM. Although it is a "system" we are also using it as a "server" (accessing via ODBC) at quite regular (5 minute) intervals. First we had only a few such interfaces, but after a while their amount grew and so did our CPU utilization. People are also actively using the computer as a legacy green-screen system and that is the primary activity, but the secondary activity (dynamic data distribution) is having a too serious performance impact. How can we address the problem? We don't know much about work management on the AS/400 so some ideas could really help. Right now we are just lowering the priorities for QZDA* and some other jobs, which is not much and doesn't help a lot. Are there any more solutions (data replication, etc) you could suggest and describe? Best regards, Juris. P.S. BTW is there a way to audit any changes (deletes, changes, inserts) to database files in some way so it would be possible to reconstruct the changes? Does journaling or auditing do that? Which one is better in regard to the AS/400 utilization - TCP/IP or Netsoft Router? I apologize for being so clueless :-). +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
