I've heard that was/is >good. Is it still? The Education Connection holds two conferences per year, with top speakers. This year's conferences will be in Minneapolis (at the Mall of America) on May 17-20, and in Marco Island Florida (*EVERYBODYONTOTHEBEACH) on June 14-17. The eight partners in the Education Connection are: Jim Sloan Wayne Evans Dick Grenham Jack Rioni Marie Finnigan-Cronin Dave Prescott Skip Marchesani (I probably spelled it wrong) and me. The first seven are all ex-IBMers. Before I got into the System/38 architecture, I sold lingerie. (This is not a joke.) In the past, IBM has supplied several key speakers including Dr. Frank Soltis, Jon Paris, Susan Gantner, Janet Krueger, Larry Youngren and others. We think that this the very best education that you can for your money. Three regional user groups also have good conferences. TUG, the Toronto User Group has a two or three day meeting every April or May. I'm scheduled to be there on May 12 and 13 to speak, but the conference could go on for another day. NES is the New England User Group. This is run by a consortium of six (or so) local user groups from all over New England. This year it's March 24 to 26. The Delaware Valley Computer User Group (DVCUG) has an annual conference every December. I don't know the date of this year's meeting, but it's usually the second Wednesday in December. The Orange County User's Group (I'm butchering the name, I think) has a pretty good two day event held in late July. > >Anything else available on same scale as COMMON? > >Thanks! > >david > >-- > >David Gibbs >Sr. Software Engineer >Silvon Software >900 Oakmont Ln, Suite 400 >Westmont, IL 60559 >(630) 655-3313 x6479 >http://www.silvon.com >mailto:david.gibbs@silvon.com > >Opinions expressed are strictly my own and do >not necessarily reflect those of my employer > >You'll only see your obstacles each time you take > your eyes off of your goal! > > -- DMRoth >+--- >| This is the Midrange System Mailing List! >| To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". >| To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. >| Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com >+--- > > Al Barsa, Jr. - Account for Midrange-L Barsa Consulting, LLC. 400 > 390 Phone: 914-251-9400 Fax: 914-251-9406 Private mail should be sent to barsa@ibm.net +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
