Matt, I did a telnet into one of my linux boxes from two AS/400's. In both cases, I was able to logon and I saw that the type of terminal I was connecting as was 'vt102'. Two things came to mind... One is to check your terminfo to see if you can support vt102. The other is to check your default attributes for telnet on the AS/400 with the "CHGTELNA" command (Prompt for current settings.) Here is what we have: Autostart server . . . . . . . . AUTOSTART *YES Inactivity timeout . . . . . . . INACTTIMO 0 Timemark timeout . . . . . . . . TIMMRKTIMO 600 Default NVT type . . . . . . . . DFTNVTTYPE *VT100 Coded character set identifier CCSID *MULTINAT ASCII fullscreen mapping: TBLVTOUT Outgoing EBCDIC/ASCII table . *CCSID Library . . . . . . . . . . TBLVTIN Incoming ASCII/EBCDIC table . *CCSID Library . . . . . . . . . . Hope this helps in some way, Terry Adams Tenneco Packaging Matthias Oertli wrote: > > I was looking for security problems without any success.
