Try CODEPAGE(*ASCII *ASCII). Notice the two ASCIIs. What is your value for
the path part of the codepage parameter? Perhaps your pathname is being
incorrectly translated before name resolution kicks in.

Anyone with experience with NFS?

I exported a directory from our RS6000 and I want to mount it on our AS/400
with the following command:
ADDMFS TYPE(*NFS) MFS('ARIsystem:/u01/S36') MNTOVRDIR('/QOpenSys/u01/S36')
CODEPAGE(*ASCII)
I get an error "Cannot find address for specified system name"

The host "ARIsystem" exists in the TCP Hosts Table.  I can PING it or
TELNET to it from the AS400 command line.  Also the mount point exists.
