Is there an easy way around this problem? Not that I've found. Even a binary transfer from one AS/400 to another doesn't keep the record structure intact. As close to convenient as you can get is to tuck what you want into a save file, and have a pre-created save file on the other end that's used for all incoming save files. You just have hope no one drops off another file in the time between your send and the next incoming file. Peter H.
