Has anybody ever had a conflict with Service Director ???????

I had a customer this week, who is running V3R7 with TCP/IP over
an Ethernet lan with Network Stations have a real problem.....
The network stations on various days, refused to boot from the
400... I couldn't figure it out the first time it happened, so
I started to try various things:

This has been running fine for around 60 days.................
They are current on PTF's.....

1. Ended TCP/IP
2. Ended Host Servers
3. Ended SBS QSERVER
4. Started everything back up again.....
5. Tried to boot from Network Station (NOTHING... can't contact host)

I tried this twice with various times between 1,2,3,,, still no change

6. I noticed Service director kicking in, to report problems

7. I ended Service director and tried steps 1-5 again......
8. Connection was fine....

Does anybody know of any conflicts between service director and other
applications ?????????
