Al, ManDATE/2000 does good data analysis by testing every field for every date format you tell it to look for. It tests as many records as you specify and reports percentages of valid data for different formats. It seems to find all the fields based on the data in the files. It costs $4,000 max and interfaces to BYPASS if you don't want to use its update capability. We've only done an evaluation, but it looked very good. I don't have the info with me right now, but I think the company is J. Damon & Co. and it is listed on IBM's Y2K links. --Chapin Kaynor Vermont You wrote: >>Anyone using the IBM Marketed BYPASS2000 tool on RPG code? >> >>Would like to hear comments/praises/warnings. >After some deep searching, we have chose BYPASS2000 as our tool of choice, >and we have a project starting at a client now. >Problems: >1. IBM did announce a product last week, but it was VERY expensive. For data analysis we are using a tool from Charlie Massoglia, which is still in the late stages of beta testing. It looks like it will do the job well, and for the right price. >... +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
