Buck: When you compile to release V4R1 and try to save specifying V3R2, the SAVOBJ command recognizes that a V4R1 object will not be recognized as a valid object in V3R2. I don't believe you can create any object at a given release and save it specifying an earlier target release. We were developing at V3R7 with a production box at V3R2 for some time and specified V3R1 as the target release (lowest common denominator) for all compiles. It was a pain, but we lived with it. (Now we're at V3R7 across the board...no more target release!) hth, Bruce Guetzkow Team Coordinator, Applications Development Highsmith Inc. W5527 Highway 106 P.O. Vernon, Yes, that works, but our developers won't be too happy having to override all their compiles; especially when the CL program doesn't use any "new" functionality! Do you have any idea why SAVOBJ TGTRLS() works differently than CRTCLPGM TGTRLS()?
