Sorry, but I think that this is the way that it was intended to work! I believe that you are mis-interpreting the rulls that the query optimizer follows. The optimizer will optionally select a logical view if, within a certain period of time, it determines that this logical view gets to the data faster. What you are doing is telling Query to return the records from an existing logical view. It wouldn't make sense for it to then read the physical and return ALL of the records from it when some where omitted from the logical. HTH.
