Jeff, I just installed a software package where I work that does just that. The version of it I installed was designed to be integrated into a hotel package, but I believe that there is a standalone version of it. The dial for authorization and settlement is done directly from the AS/400. There is a batch job that runs all the time that handles the communication interface. The interface to the batch job is via data queue and update of a control file. The communication job attaches to a modem via a asynch (rs-232) line. The modem talks to the credit card processor via a dedicated leased line. The name of the product is called Cash. It is written by a company called Lodging Management Systems. They are based in Florida. The number I have for them is 770-667-8548. Any more questions, drop me an email.. Ralph A. Borriello rablxm@erols.com -----Original Message----- From: Jeffrey M.
