It's similar to the situation of having a logical which only has a subset
of the fields in the physical(physical has 20 fields and logical only shows
10 of them).   If you did a SELECT *  you would only see what the logical
could show you(only 10 fields not 20).  It's the same with the 
Select/Omit situation.  The logical will only show what it is capable of
showing you via its ODP(open data path).
