(This statistic has a probability of 0.8, or an 80 percent chance of occurrence.) Gartner Group calculates that meeting year 2000 compliance will cost a North American enterprise an average of $1.10 per executable line of code (LOC), and a typical project will average between 10 and 50 million LOCs at $60 per hour. Achieving year 2000 compliance will take one year of full-time labor for every 100,000 LOCs.
