  • Subject: Upgrade to V3R2

We are plannig to upgrade to V3R2 this weekend, and there is something that
is worrying me. I have read for months on the list about running the
SETDSKCLN function before the upgrade. However, EMC is telling us that we do
not have to do this, and that it might take as long as 18 hours to run with
the amount os DASD and the number of disk arms that we have.

Are they telling us the truth, or are we going to have problems if we don;t
do a SETDSKCLN? The operations manager said that he has read all of the
documentation that came with the upgrade, and did not see anything about
running SETDSKCLN. Also, last weekend, EMC came by on Saturday and made some
changes in our DASD so they would work with V3R2. I am not sure exactly what
they did, and wonder if what they did makes running SETDSKCLN unnecessary.

Anyone have any experience/opinions about this???

TTFN...
