SNADS/SMTP email confusion

We have banged our heads (repeatedly) on how to get OfficeVision notes sent to 
an internet address.  If you could help stop this needless and insidious act of 
cruelty please do so.

We have several AS400s in a SNADS network.  One AS400 is set up as an SMTP mail 
gateway.  By using a SMTP alias table we are able to successfully send mail out 
of OfficeVision "ON THE GATEWAY MACHINE" to an internet address.  Our problem 
comes about when we try to send internet mail from OfficeVision (through the 
gateway AS400) from another AS400 that is connected via SNADS.  Alas the mail 
gets returned to the point of origin UNDELIVERABLE.   The only solution we have 
been able to come up with so far would be to maintain a system alias table on 
the gateway machine for each of the remote sites but this would be a 
maintenance nightmare.  Any input would be appreciated, thanks.
