Hi Tim, I'm the guy that posted the commands. <g> Are you trying to do a GETSPLF to an existing file by any chance? The command will create the file on the fly, you don't need to create them in advance. Has anyone that received these cool CMDS (GETSPLF & PUTSPLF) from the guy on the list had the following message when trying to copy a spooled file to a physical file? My files length is 500 bytes. No data whatsoever was copied. The file member was empty but I was copying a 25 page spool file. Message ID . . . . . . : CPF3370 Severity . . . . . . . : 30 Message type . . . . . : Information Date sent . . . . . . : 11/04/97 Time sent . . . . . . : 10:33:31 Message . . . . : Some data not copied to file JUNKFILE in TIMLIB. Cause . . . . . : The spooled file to TAMTAB number 1 job 498693/TIMT/TAMTAB contained more characters in the record than would fit in files JUNKFILE in TIMLIB. Data was copied starting with the first column in the record. Data at the end of some records was not copied. The data that was not copied is in lines . A plus (+) character indicates that the system has not listed all the lines where data was lost. A minus (-) indicates the system could not determine on which lines data was lost. Recovery . . . : Copy the spooled file to a data base file with longer record length. Bottom Press Enter to continue. Any help/suggestions appreciated. -- '''''''''''''''''''' : Tim & Dana Truax : : : '''''''''''''''''''' +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MAJORDOMO@midrange.com | and specify 'unsubscribe MIDRANGE-L' in the body of your message. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- umidr +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MAJORDOMO@midrange.com | and specify 'unsubscribe MIDRANGE-L' in the body of your message. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
