You can attach a data queue to an output queue.  Then every time a 
file becomes Ready on the output queue, an entry is sent to the data 
queue.  You can then run a job to monitor that data queue and check 
the page count of each spool file that is sent to the queue.  If the 
count is over 800, then Hold the spool file.  The data being sent to 
the data queue includes all of the parameters you would need to do a 
RTVSPLFA (Retrieve Spool File Attribute).
