Gary,

If you put a WSE in QCTL for QPA* and put one in QINTER for QPADEV* then if
QINTER is active you should go there since it has the "less-generic"
version of your device name, presumably QPADEV0001, 2, 3, etc. If however,
QINTER is not active then you should end up in QCTL since it does have an
entry that matches you device name, just not as close a match as the one in
QINTER. I haven't tried this, but it should work.

Let me clarify my problem. I am shutting down QINTER right before me
End Of Day starts. After EOD, my backup runs. The last step in the
backup is to STRSBS QINTER. However, if something goes wrong somewhere
in the processes, I want to be able to sign into QCTL from home. Again,
I am using TCP/IP, so a workstation entry won't work. I suppose I could
use ANYNET to allow me to specify a workstation ID, but I would rather
not run ANYNET. Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions?
Gary
