The version is v3r2, but I'm really just fishing to see if this is even
possible. We have a huge monolithic (50 file spec :^( would you believe)
program that writes dates derived from UDATE into 3 2-byte fields for
YY,MM,DD. We recently had 4 records written with these fields blank. We've
looked a bit, but it doesn't seem that the program would've missed this.
But I'm going to be sure we go back and make sure. Man, it's uuuuugly code.

As you know, things like this should not happen, but I've been shoulded on
too many times!
