>> Is anyone aware of a technique to override a workstation file in an RPG program to another type of file? << David, There is a LOT of similarity between display and ICF files. Maybe APPC is worth a look. There is some additional complexity in making the connection, but not really a lot from the viewpoint of RPG. You might also be able to use data queues to talk back and forth. You'd need to parse the data stream yourself, but that could be done with a data structure, so should be no big deal. It is possible to override one type of file to another. I've overridden physical files to save, tape and diskette files at one time or another. I'm not sure what is allowed re. display files. It doesn't seem unreasonable that a physical file would work, but I don't know. hth Pete -- - Pete Hall peteh@earth.inwave.com http://www.inwave.com/~peteh/ +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MAJORDOMO@midrange.com | and specify 'unsubscribe MIDRANGE-L' in the body of your message. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
