I have embedded an SQL statement in an RPG program to retrieve records into a cursor. The select statement is using a "where" clause to only select certain records. I'd like to get a total record count of what was selected before I start processing the records. I want to use the total record count to send the user a message of the status of the submitted job (ie, % complete using how many processed in relation to the total selected). Is there a way to get this total record count after opening the cursor? Thanks for any help and suggestions.
