I see your hundred and raise you two hundred ! We have tons of them lying around too. One possibility - a year or two ago I asked IBM Canada if they could recycle them and they said yes. Don't know of this is the case in the US, but in Canada when IBM ships software of PTF's on tape (or even CD) they include a mailing label to return the media (which is all marked LOAN MEDIA -PROPERTY OF IBM). They recycle/reuse the tapes - it beats throwing them in the garbage. Don't know if they want the media returned in the US. They don't really care if you don't in Canada, but they ask for it back for tax reasons, to save us customers money. The government ruled that the software was taxable because it included physical media that the customer kept, so IBM designated it Loan Media, asked you to return it, and avoided having to charge tax on the software.
