The rule to understand is that objects can be restored forward to another higher release but they might not be able to be restored to a previous lower release because of the release dependant routines or objects being restored. Some objects have functions or object types which are not supported on the older release. The major problem restoring to 3.6 or higher is that you might by mistake put an IBM object on RISC which is a CISC object. What ever you do, DON'T restore IBM objects from CISC to RISC. You might regret you did it because it could blow away your RISC system.
