  • Subject: SQL Server data to the AS/400
  • From: "Rich Dotson" <rich_dotson@xxxxxxxxxxx>

I have a client who is looking at a package which uses SQL Server as the
data repository. If they purchase this package they will have the need
to replicate some of this data to the AS/400. This package will
replace a "home-grown" PC application that allows the user to enter some
information and parts of that information is then uploaded to the AS/400
where a "monitor" job waits for it and updates other application files.

My question is this: What would be the best way to get this data to the
AS/400 in a pseudo real-time manner. They want the data to be placed in
the same files that the "monitor" job currently uses so they do not have
to make any changes to the current AS/400 processing.

Any suggestions?
