Tim,

In a message dated 97-09-18 07:30:42 EDT, you write:

Not ignorant at all (well, grammatically it IS :-P -- stupid it is NOT).
These drove me nuts the first trip too!

A BOF is a "Birds Of a Feather" session. These sessions are where people of
like interests (e.g., a particular software package, particular
configurations, or a particular development tool) get together. A COMMON
member posts the request for a BOF on a bulletin board and, if enough people
sign up for it, the group is assigned a private room in which to meet after
classes. If they're still having them (Steve G.?), I wouldn't miss the
"AS/400 Security" BOF on a bet!

CUDS is the Common User Discussion (Drinking?) Session. All COMMON members
in attendance get together after class for drinks, snacks, and talk about
areas of similar interest. This is where you meet folks not on your track or
in your particular field of interest. The drinks USED to be free, but they
recently started having a "Dry" CUDS with only soft drinks and charging for
drinks at the "Wet" versions. I understand that they handed out coupons for
a couple of free drinks at the last one, but I don't know if this practice
will continue (Bob C. or Al?).

The acronyms could probably use an update, but all COMMON members are
familiar with them now. GO! It's VERY informative!
