I've tried to CPYSPLF a spooled file containing AFP data and can't get it
to work; the 400 tells me:

Message ID . . . . . . : CPF3429 Severity . . . . . . . : 30
Message type . . . . . : Diagnostic

Message . . . . : File FONTFM number 2 cannot be displayed, copied, or sent.
Cause . . . . . : File FONTFM number 2 job 114004/BUCK/QPADEV0016 cannot be
displayed, copied, or sent. Reason code is 4. If the member option
(MBROPT) parameter is specified as *REPLACE on the Copy Spooled File
(CPYSPLF) command, the TOFILE was cleared.
1 - The file has no records.
2 - The file contains only blank records, graphics, bar codes, or
intelligent printer data stream (IPDS) transparent data.
3 - The file contains only ASCII data intended for a personal computer
  printer.
4 - The file contains only advanced function printing data stream (AFPDS)
data. If the file was being sent, the data format (DTAFMT) parameter is
  specified as *RCDDATA.
5 - The file has a page definition specified.
Recovery . . . : If the data format (DTAFMT) parameter is specified as
*RCDDATA on the Send Network Spooled File (SNDNETSPLF) command, try
specifying *ALLDATA as the value for the DTAFMT parameter.

Bummer.

If anybody knows a way round this (aside from going to lib QSPL and digging
out the data myself!) I'd love to hear it!
