My point was for those that did not want to handle the screen reformatting for 4 digits or did not have any room for it without major redesign work. Again it is an option - good or bad. I fact I would take it deeper then that and attack it from a business model perspective for survival. The answers are not that simple nor are they usually capable of being solved with home grown solutions. The time wasted on solution development Vs a fast start with a Y2K specific tool set is quite large. And there are those that will use packages such as Pathfinder to remediate Y2K and fine they are making an extensive number of passes& burning CPU cycle galore to reach the goal. On the Y2K Death March: Fact 1 70% of the AS/400s have not started yet Fact 2 65% of all MIS dollars will go directly to Y2K Fact 3 MIS is just the start of the Y2K infrastructure issues. Are they beginning to listen and Act up in Vermont yet or tracking with the global trend?
