How about "yes" and "yes" for an answer? If the Sys/36 application was well written and is simple and straight forward then probably the conversion will be fairly simple. I'd suppose you would compile it first as an RPG type instead of an RPG36 type though. On the other hand to take _full_ advantage you probably need to start by making your files externally described. Any date math will want to be redone. Display screens will want to be redone too, so that numbers are well displayed for your users. Also if you are sorting your data with #GSORT you will want to consider using logical files instead. And your OCL will not travel over at all. You'll have to make some basic design and attitude adjustments there. Using the workstation ID to give you unique work files is a loser of an idea on the AS/400, and deleting and then creating physical files is not as bad now as it once was, but it's still not a long term solution for you. Logical files are not quite the same thing as alternate index files.
