  • Subject: Client Access/PC5250 "weird" error message...
  • From: Chuck Lewis <clewis@xxxxxxxxxx>

Hello All,

We have installed literally TONS of PC's with Client Access and PC5250
with no problems - until now.

We have some folks onsite at one of our remote facilities and they get
Client Access installed and select PC5250 and it installs fine and they
get a signon screen. We don't like the default device name that is
created (it doesn't conform to our standards) so we change it; no big
deal, click on Communications, Configure and under Workstation ID, enter
the desired workstation ID and save it !

Well... They TRY THIS and get the following error:

"PCS ERR 101 Error Locking Global Memory"

This is at our location in Vancover and the PC's are "Pines" and Hewlett
Rand with 16mb of memory (with another 16mb due to be installed as soon
as it comes in...) running Windows 3.11

Anybody have ANY ideas on this one ???

Thanks in advance...

Chuck
