I have re-used a number of 2 Gb drives from an AS/400 in a SCSI array in an NT server. They work fine and seem to be more reliable than off-the-shelf SCSI drives. James Turnbull AS/Tech Consulting -----Original Message One IBMer says he's taken the SCSI drives from trashed AS/400 drives, reformatte d them, and run them on his PC at home. However, he says he can't go the other way because the formatting is different, and the 400 won't re-format a PC format drive from scratch.... but, physically, they're the same. --Paul E Musselman PaulMmn@ix.netcom.com +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to "MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com". | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MAJORDOMO@midrange.com | and specify 'unsubscribe MIDRANGE-L' in the body of your message. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
