Your own RUNBCKUP will issue CHGSYSLIBL to place your own library, containing SAVxxxx commands with defaults changed to save-while-active, on top of the library list for the backup job, and then issue standard QSYS/RUNBCKUP. To replace standard RUNBCKUP with your own you can use the same technique: add your own library to the top of the system library list. All in all, it's almost the same as changing SAVxxx defaults to save-while-active, only it will affect only OA backup tasks.
