Now, I remember card jams in the MFCM (the 80 column machine)... there were sensors and error lights for every jam point except one: The machine never knew if you took out the gizzy around the punch station. I remember the fun I had one afternoon when a playful bunch of the guys removed this gizzy just before I got the machine for some urgent testing. Seems all the cards just read in and spewed all over the insides of the machine.
