COMMON Announces CEO Resignation

Chicago, IL - COMMON CEO Joel R. Hoiland, CAE, has submitted his resignation
 effective July 31, 1997.

Hoiland has decided to devote his full time to develop an emerging
opportunity
which fully utilizes his extensive experience in association management,
government affairs and new business development.

"Joel has made significant contributions in further defining the strategic
direction of the organization," stated David Dunne, president of COMMON. "He
is a talented executive, and we regret his departure, but wish him well
in his
 future endeavor."

COMMON remains firmly committed to moving forward with its
restructuring plan,
first announced in October of 1996. "Our ultimate goal," states Dunne, "is to
position ourselves to more fully capitalize on the knowledge of our
volunteers
so we can provide additional educational value to our members."

As part of the continuing implementation of the restructuring plan, COMMON
will move forward with a variety of efforts already underway. These
include an
analysis of COMMON's business processes and procedures, targeted efforts to
strengthen existing vendor partner relationships, and the development of a
 compensation and benefits program.
