Folks:

I've decided to start creating a FAQ archive of the MIDRANGE-L 
mailing list.

What this means is, I will start accumulating messages that provide 
rather good, concise, answers to common questions (Charlie M's sample 
code for Matching Records is a perfect example, and the first entry) 
and make them available for retrieval via the list server program.

To get a list of available FAQ files, send email to 
MAJORDOMO@midrange.com and specify 'index MIDRANGE-L' in the body of 
your message.  To retrieve a file, again send email to 
MAJORDOMO@midrange.com, but this time put 'get MIDRANGE-L <filename>' 
in the body of your message.  Full details can be had by sending the 
word HELP in a message to MAJORDOMO@midrange.com.

Also, individual digest versions will be available by the same 
mechanism .. just replace MIDRANGE-L with MIDRANGE-L-DIGEST when you 
send your index or get commands.

If you encounter a message you think should be included in the FAQ 
archive, send let me know about it and I will consider it.  Keep in 
mind that the message should answer a question that has been asked 
and answered many times or answers a specific question in a 
particularly straight forward and concise way.
