Hank and Pete, In a message dated 97-07-31 19:32:03 EDT, you write: > As the last CISC release, it will be supported until after the year > 2000. While V3R7, its sister release, will not be supported that long. > -- ??? IBM's normal "drop dead" date on a release is usually May two years afterward. I was suprised at the extended October 2K mention for V3R2. I'm telling you CISC folks, I feel for you. You DO deserve support, you DO deserve enhancements, you DO command a LOT of IBM revenue, but RISC is the direction for now. Like I've said before, do YOU want to wait as long (almost 10 years) as the S/36 people did for new support from IBM just because you know you're right? The sad thing is that 36'ers can get Y2K compliant hardware and OS, but that doesn't fix their applications, does it? JMHO, Dean Asmussen Enterprise Systems Consulting, Inc.
