IBM's normal "drop dead" date on a release is usually May two years
afterward.  I was suprised at the extended October 2K mention for V3R2.

I'm telling you CISC folks, I feel for you.  You DO deserve support, you DO
deserve enhancements, you DO command a LOT of IBM revenue, but RISC is the
direction for now.  Like I've said before, do YOU want to wait as long
(almost 10 years) as the S/36 people did for new support from IBM just
because you know you're right?  The sad thing is that 36'ers can get Y2K
compliant hardware and OS, but that doesn't fix their applications, does it?
