Have a situation where a Lotus Notes application is being developed (which will be running on two IBM PC Servers, not on an IPCS/FSIOP) that will need to be able to access records from a master file & transaction file on an AS/400. AS/400 is connected to same TokenRing as the two PC servers, and we have PC's connected to the same T/R LAN that are using CA/400 via IPX connection (OS/400 V3R7, CA/400 for Win95 V3R1M2), although there are PC5250 problems we haven't solved yet. LAN is running Novell Netware 4.1 and we want to use IPX for connection from Lotus Notes servers to AS/400. SO - I'm looking for recommendations as to how to have the Lotus Notes application (which I know next to nothing about) access the files on the AS/400. Can Notes just issue an SQL/Query SELECT statement to the 400 ? Is ODBC something to use here ? Anything in CA/400 that could be used ? Is there a Lotus Notes 'applet' that can retrieve data from AS/400 files ? Any advice would be appreciated. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is the Midrange System Mailing List!
