The parameter you're refering to is EOFDLY (End of file delay).  The
main drawback to this method is that the system will always wait the
specified amount of time before rechecking the file for new records.
(i.e. If you have EOFDLY set to 30 seconds and a record arrives one
second after the delay was started, the program will not get control
for another 29 seconds.)  A data queue will "fire" as soon as
something arrives.

Aside from the size limitation, another advantage of using a "queue
file" with EOFDLY is that the file is protectable and recoverable by
using journalling and optionally commitment control.  You can also
easily view the data in the file as opposed to the data queue.
