If you have Internet access, download the Service Pack from 
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/as400/products/clientaccess/win32/
directly to a directory on your server, then just have the user run the
SETUP program from there to apply the Service pack to their PC.
Even when I do this, I still order and apply the same Service Pack PTF
to the AS/400, so that if you do run Check Version it doesn't report the
400 as being down level.
