Hi, I've got a couple of issues with CA running under NT 4 that I'd like to raise. We have two 400's & I am able to Telnet OK between them & I can access them from a PC using Anynet. However when we try to use native TCP/IP either via CA or a Telnet emulator it doesn't work. I've managed to trace the problem to the Telnet server job on the 400, QTGTELNETS. When I look at this job log I get a CPF8940 "Cannot automatically select virtual device" error. The help for this indicates that we don't have a virtual device available but there are in fact several on the 400 (& in fact when I Telnet from the other 400 one of these virtual devices is selected). We have autocreate turned off for virtual devices but I tried temporarily setting this to 10 & it made no difference. My other issue relates to file transfers. We have a file with over 256 fields which I can download (via Rumba or PC5250) and it creates a .FDF file OK. However when I try & use the .FDF to go the other way I get an error saying that you can't use more then 256 fields. If I try sending it without using the .FDF I just get a timeout (presumably for the same reason?). The file is a comma seperated variable one so transferring it up as one field & then using CPYF isn't really an option. I'm trying to get a non CSV version but I'm not sure if they'll be able to pad out the fields with extra zeroes and spaces yet. Any suggestions on either problem would be most appreciated.
