I'd agree with all that John Carr just said about a place at the table for VA/RPG. I'd also add this: VA/RPG works and gets the job done. Exisitng RPG programmers, even Sys/36 guys, can learn it easily and fast. Lets face it; companies just will not for pay for long learning curves. Synon and other CASE tools showed us that. Train a person to do Synon and you'll lose him/her within a year of them being productive with the new tool. Visual RPG is a few days, at most, to get your first simple GUI up and running. It looks good, too.
