  • Subject: CHGPF problem with deleted fields

I use CHGPF all the time to add a new field to a file with no problems.
When I attempted to delete a field, which was not used as a key field or for
any select/omit logic in any logical file, the CHGPF failed. It gave me the
name of the first logical file which was built using the PF's record format
name. I deleted that file and tried again. It halted with the name of the
next logical file which was built using the PF's record format name. This is
under V3R7 with cum tape a month old.

Can you use CHGPF when removing a field from the physical file? I thought
this was legal as long as the field being removed was not used as a key
field or for select/omit in any logical file.
