Personally  I find them all bulky.   The following works even if I don't have
that index being
used in my program.

C/EXEC-SQL
C+                                DELETE   FROM RECD1
C+                                 WHERE   filefieldname  =  :KEY1
C/END-EXEC

Of  course if I were to use a loop  I would use the more correct one.
That being  a SETLL/DOU/LEAVE   loop,   but we've heard that before.   ITER
